LeAana

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 August 2026

LeAana is one shopping list your family shares. Privacy is part of how it's built, not a setting you turn on. This page explains, plainly, what we do and don't do with your information.

The short version

Who we are

LeAana is provided by bircube. In this policy, "we", "us", and "the app" refer to LeAana. If you have any questions, contact us at the address at the bottom of this page.

Information we collect

What you create in the app. To provide the shared list, we store the content you and your household add, including:

What we do not require. You can create a home and use the app with only a display name — no email, phone number, or password. If you later choose to secure your account by linking a Google, phone, or email sign-in, we store that identifier so you can sign back in; this is entirely optional.

Photos. When you scan a written or printed list, the text recognition runs entirely on your device. When you send a photo of a medicine strip to your family, that is shared by you directly through your own messaging app (e.g. WhatsApp). The app does not upload or store your photos.

Anonymous usage analytics. To understand which features are used and where the app can be better, we collect anonymous, aggregated usage events — for example, that a list was shared or a reminder was set. These are tied to a random identifier for your app installation, not to your identity, and never include your name, the text of your list items, medicine details, phone numbers, or spend amounts. Details are in “Anonymous usage analytics” below. The app contains no advertising SDKs, we do not track you for advertising, and we do not sell your data.

How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Anonymous usage analytics

To see which features people use and where LeAana can improve, we collect a small set of anonymous usage events through PostHog, a product-analytics service. This is built for data minimization:

You can turn it off. Open Account → Privacy in the app and switch off “Share anonymous usage data.” When it is off, no usage events are sent.

How your information is shared

How your information is protected

Data is encrypted in transit using standard HTTPS/TLS. In our database, row-level security isolates each household so that one family's data is never accessible to another. Access to the backend is restricted.

Health information

LeAana's medicine feature records and reminds only. It does not provide medical advice, dosing recommendations, diagnoses, or any pharmacy or health-provider integration.

The medicine details you enter — and the names of people you track medicines for — are stored only to power the run-out estimate and reminders, and are visible only within your household, under the same protections as the rest of your data.

Keeping and deleting your data

You can edit or remove items, medicines, and trips in the app at any time. If you would like your account and household data deleted, contact us using the email below and we will remove it.

Children

LeAana is intended for household and family coordination managed by adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Any details a parent chooses to record about a family member (for example, a medicine for a child) are used only to provide the reminders described above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and we will note any material changes.
